solving a rubiks cube

These are obsolete notes from when I first learned how to solve a Rubik's cube (in 20 minutes, thanks to my friend's great teaching!) back in March. As of April 18 (2026!), my current average with the beginner method is 1:50. I'm currently working on getting better at F2L.

RH algo: up left down right -|
LH Algo: up right down left |-

for second layer: turn top one away, then do algorithm opposite of direction turned (e.g. turn away left, then RH algo, then reposition, LH algo)

to solve yellow cross: get top left of cross (otherwise whatever), then turn the head cw, right hand algo twice (row, then cross), ccw head

reorient cross properly: with the two right edges on top right, do
ULDLULLD

for corners, keep a correct corner in bottom right
LURULDRD
until all correct, flip upside down and do RH algo until each corner is in place, then turn bottom face and repeat until cube is solved
